Shahrokh focuses his practice on patent and trademark law, representing many U.S. and foreign based clients. Specifically, his experience includes patent prosecution of U.S. and counterpart foreign applications; drafting patentability, noninfringement, and invalidity legal opinions; due diligence reports; ex parte reexamination requests; and general client counseling.
Prior to joining the firm’s Albany office as an associate, Shahrokh attended law school part-time while working full-time at Jones Day’s New York City office. He graduated from New York Law School and is admitted to practice law in New York and Massachusetts, before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and as a registered patent attorney before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
Before entering the legal profession, Shahrokh graduated with a B.Sc. with Honours and a Ph.D., both in Pharmacology, while studying in the U.K., and moved to the U.S. to extend his research as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School / Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He has presented his work widely, including publishing articles in Nature Medicine, Journal of Experimental Medicine, and in Blood. Email:
