Pharmaceutical

Our Chemical practice group has special strength in pharmaceuticals. Many of our practitioners have advanced degrees in chemistry and/or have been research scientists in the laboratories of small start-up companies and large, established, scientific research organizations.

The Pharmaceutical practice group regularly drafts and prosecutes patent applications and prepares opinions concerning patentability, validity, non-infringement, infringement, and enforceability. We have significant experience developing and maintaining large intellectual property (IP) portfolios for our pharmaceutical clients.

Our clients appreciate our ability to help them with all aspects of patent management, from directing searches and conducting landscape analyses, to identifying patentable subject matter, to obtaining patent term extensions and assisting with other issues relating to the Hatch-Waxman Act. We conduct due diligence investigations and prepare reports, file reexaminations and reissue applications, draft license agreements, and provide litigation support.

We have significant experience with the following technical areas:

  • Small molecule therapeutics
  • Chemical processes
  • Pharmaceutical formulations and delivery systems
  • Diagnostics
  • Combination therapy
  • Immunotherapy
