Clean Energy Patents hit a record high in 2011, up over 20 percent relative to 2010, according to the Clean Energy Patent Growth Index. GE took the yearly Clean Energy Patent Crown from General Motors (GM) in 2011, while also leading the Wind and Solar sectors and making the annual top ten in hybrid/electric vehicles.
