The Upstate Venture Association of New York (UVANY) is hosting a forum that will focus on intellectual property.
The association’s Albany Capital Forum, scheduled for May 6, is titled “The Nuts and Bolts of IP Due Diligence: What the venture capitalist and entrepreneur should ask for and what they should expect.”
UVANY is a statewide organization formed to increase the number of venture and private equity deals in the state.
Scott Murphy, UVANY’s president, called intellectual property due diligence a critical element in the funding process.
The event is scheduled from 5-9 p.m. at the Albany Marriott on Wolf Road. Cost to attend is $30 for UVANY members and $50 for non-members.
Panelists include: John Boger of the Albany, N.Y., law firm Heslin Rothenberg Farley & Mesiti P.C., Bela Musits of the Troy, N.Y., venture firm High Peaks Venture Partners, Chuck Rancourt of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute‘s office of technology, and Arthur Dresner of Duane Morris LLP, a law firm based in Philadelphia.
