We asked some local businesspeople to tell us how they network. We talked with Maureen Cody, president/owner of M.S. Solutions; Doug Brown, vice president for construction services, MLB Construction Services LLC; Karen Hartgen, president of Hartgen Archeological Associates; Ed Neff, president of The Compass Co. Inc.; Bettina Grzybowski-Dill, vice president of Mohawk Sign Systems Inc. ; David Miranda, partner in Heslin Rothenberg Farley & Mesiti P.C.

All of them think networking is important to their business. Doug Brown says he spends an average of 10 to 15 hours a month networking, but admits that is probably not enough. Early morning before the workday starts, or after work has finished, seem to be the times businesspeople prefer to attend networking functions.
