Shahrokh focuses his practice on biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent law, and trademark law. Specifically, his experience includes patent prosecution of U.S. and counterpart foreign applications; drafting patentability, noninfringement, and invalidity legal opinions; due diligence reports; ex parte reexamination requests; and general client counseling on patent and trademark matters.
Prior to entering the legal field, Shahrokh graduated with a B.Sc. with Honours in Pharmacology from University of Edinburgh (Scotland), and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from University of Bristol (England), and completed a three year Vascular Biology-focused Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard Medical School / Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He has presented his work widely and is first author on scientific research papers, published in Nature Medicine, Journal of Experimental Medicine, and in Blood.
Prior to joining Heslin Rothenberg Farley & Mesiti’s Albany office as an associate, Shahrokh attended law school part-time while working full-time at Jones Day’s New York City office. He graduated from New York Law School and is admitted to practice law in New York and Massachusetts, before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and as a registered patent attorney before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
